Minerva Crafts Blogger Network – New Look 6235 – Baby Shark Robe

Once again I choose a baby related project. I couldn’t pass this one up though – it’s adorable! New Look 6235: Baby’s Robe, Knit Pants and Top. I made the shark robe, view D. I choose size small 13-18 pounds. I figured this gives baby a little bit of time to grow into it.

This is a quick sew. It did take me a few days to complete but only because I get so exhausted. I finished this robe at 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant! Overall it should really just take a day of cutting and sewing. It turned out super adorable and cozy.

I went with gray since that’s the typical shark color, plus I love gray. I choose the Anti-Pill Polar Fleece fabric and white Towelling fabric. The contrast of the two fabrics together looks really good.

I am very happy with both of the fabrics and the pattern itself. One issue with the towelling fabric is that once you cut it, it gets EVERYWHERE! I’m not even joking, it was even in my contact! It looks like it snowed in my sewing room. Once you get past that and just ignore the mess, it’s very simple to sew. At times the fabric is thick and kind of hard to push through the presser foot but I’m sure if I used a walking foot or teflon foot it would have been much easier.

I can’t wait for baby to be born and get all snuggly in this robe after a bath. Once I have pictures of him all wrapped up in it, I will be sure to update this post. But for now, here is Guinness modeling it for everyone!
